WHO WE ARE?

YOUR COACH

Gaby Doebeli, founder of FTP and horsemanship coach, is dedicated to helping her students build a solid foundation in horsemanship. She focuses on creating strong, harmonious partnerships between riders and their horses, enabling them to transform and reach their full potential in their chosen equestrian discipline. Gaby, trained in Switzerland as a dressage rider, has spent over 30 years learning from many renowned horsemen and women. Gaby is dedicated to learning from masters in the art of horsemanship. She actively participates in competitions and clinics across various disciplines to share her knowledge with her students. For Gaby, success is measured by the smiles on her students’ faces as they enjoy their time with their horses.

OUR HORSES

Our horses are of different age, breed and personality and none of them is the same.
They are purpose bred for equestrian sports like dressage, jumping, working equitation, polox and campdrafting. You will meet them in FTP’s videos and training material where they showcase exercises and training techniques from as young as a day old.

Let's meet the team of horses at the farm

FTP Chevrolet Nova – Chevy is a bay Holsteiner Warmblood gelding, bred and born at FTP in 2003 . He was started at 3 yrs of age and participated in numerous clinics over the years. He is now part of the Part Lease Program at FTP. An exceptional horse, an all-rounder and pleasure to handle. He is the go to horse to teach our youngsters some paddock manners and social skills.

FTP Corbett – Corbyis a grey Holsteiner Warmblood gelding, bred and born at FTP in 2005 . He is Chevy’s full brother and started at 3 yrs of age. As his brother he has been out and about to various clinics, lessons and competitions over the years. He enjoys trail ride, dressage, jumping and won the SEQ Horseback Archery in 2016 (in walk), gets involved in Skills at Arms (Medieval Style) or teaches the polox ponies how to bash and get tough.

Roseneath Miss Lindsay – Missy is a brown Australian Stockhorse mare , born in 2005 (Dam: Valeheru Sams, Aria Sire: Lindsay) bought by Darrren when she was 5 as a polocrosse horse. These days she is semi retired after a great career playing A&B grade. She had the pleasure of being a broodmare and produced a clever little guy called ‘Remi’.

Shiloh is a black Quarterhorse/Appaloosa mare, bred by Darren out of his National Tentpegging Champion Mare Nel . She played a couple of seasons in polocrosse. Fastest horse in the paddock and most kind natured horse just a tad hormonal. She was semi retired when replaced by Jewels in the games and became a mum to our fast and furious black Porscha filly.

Jaylyn Downs Jewel – Jewelsis a bay Australian Stockhorse mare  born 2011 (Dam Bonniebraes Harmony & Sire Star Brigadoon), bought by Darren when she was 5 to play polocrosse. She is these days his jewel in the paddock and training for A grade. Fast and furious in every way with a great humor and kind heart if treated with respect.

Music –Music is a bay Australian Stockhorse mare (Dam: Bonnie & Sire McNamara Soul HSH) born 2010 , bought by Darren when she was 9 to play polocrosse. She was in the pool of horses in the Adina Polocrosse World Cup at Warwick in 2019 and played for the South African Team. She is now releasing Missy from her duty as the backup horse for Jewel. It is still early days for the team but she is improving nicely getting more confident and is starting to let her guard down.

Goldmine Mirabelle – Mira is a palomino Australian Stockhorse mare bought by Gaby as a 4mth old foal . She was started with 3 yrs of age and participated in clinics and lessons to build a strong foundation. The mare is a true showhorse and she knows it. Elegant mover with lots of fire in her belly to shine and stand out and is a lovely expressive liberty horse with a strong connection.

Bardoe Remington Star HSH- Remi is a brown Australian Stockhorse Stallion, born in 2016 , bred by Gaby and Darren out of Missy and Star Brigadoon one of the most popular polocrosse Sires in the country. He has turned into a gentle, sensible soul with good manners and can currently still be kept with the herd grazing the paddocks.

Bardoe Pearl – Pearl is a buckskin Australian Stockhorse/Quaterhorse filly, born in 2017  and bought by Gaby and Darren in 2017 with her mum Cattle Girl. Pearl is out of the lovely stallion Kydee Court Breezeaway a Quarter Horse by Mr Jessy James. She is a sassy, gorgeous buckskin with an amazing calm attitude and a huge appetite for any kind of food.

Bardoe Popstar is a black Australian Stockhorse mare, born 2020.  ‘Poppy’ is another one of our homebred horses we are proud of. She is out of Shiloh (QHx) by Bardoe Remington Star (HSH). Growing into a beautiful mare with lots of personality, like her father with a very outgoing nature and heaps of confidence. Loves people and all her paddock buddies as she is a real social butterfly. Check out her videos if you keen to get to know her more closely.

Bardoe Mighty Star – aka Mighty is a black Australian Stockhorse colt, born Feb 2024.

Bardoe North Star – aka Noddy  is a brown Australian Stockhorse colt, born Jan 2024.

Bardoe Banjo – Banjo is a black Australian Stockhorse colt born Jan 2024.

Bardoe One in a Million and Bardoe Mighty Star were born in 2022. Milli os out of our special mare Miss Lindsay (LH) by Texas Trooper (HSH) and Mighty is a full brother to Bardoe Popstar out of Shiloh (QHx) by Bardoe Remington Start (HSH). We look forward to watching these two grow and there is no doubt they will bring lots of fun and entertainment.

2023 – Cattle Girl moved on to the heavenly acres this year at a grand age of 31.  We purchased her as a broodmare together with her daughter Bardoe Pearl as a 4mth old foal. She loved roaming our acres with the other broodmares and enjoyed her retirement years at Bardoe’s.

2023 – Bardoe Rockstar was our biggest loss this year due to a snakebite. We bred him out of Roses for Margo (AUS) to our own stallion Bardoe Remington Star (HSH). Rosy passed on her big frame as we hoped and Remi gave him the relaxed and calm nature. Nothing ‘rocked’ him and that might have been why the snake got the better of him.

2024 – Bardoe Porscha  is a black Australian Stockhorse filly , born 2018 (Dam Shiloh Sire: One Direction). She is like her mum very kind but comes with speed. What her mother lacks in confidence she has plenty of and doesn’t shy back to make her opinion known among her paddock mates. She is a quick learner and we can’t wait to see her develop (SOLD).
