MEET GABY

Gaby Doebeli, founder of FTP Coaching and horsemanship educator, specialises in helping committed riders build calm, confident, thinking horses through structured, foundation-based training.

Her work focuses on understanding how horses learn, process information, and develop both mentally and physically. Rather than teaching isolated techniques or quick fixes, Gaby helps riders diagnose the root causes of training challenges and build progressive foundations that allow horses to develop balance, clarity, and confidence over time.

Originally trained in Switzerland as a dressage rider, Gaby has spent more than 30 years learning from respected horsemen and women across multiple disciplines. Alongside her equestrian background, she brings over three decades of professional experience as an enterprise business analyst, where she has worked with diverse stakeholders, analysed complex systems, and mentored people through change. This analytical mindset naturally shapes her horsemanship teaching—breaking training into clear components, understanding cause and effect, and helping riders develop structured, thoughtful approaches to working with their horses.

As a certified equestrian and business performane coach, Gaby takes a holistic view of horse and rider development. She considers the mental, emotional, and physical capacity of both horse and rider, guiding students to develop awareness, problem-solving skills, and independent thinking.

Through her teaching, Gaby empowers riders to understand their horses more deeply, build strong foundations, and develop partnerships based on clarity, trust, and thoughtful progression.

Gaby's Philosophy

At the heart of Gaby’s philosophy is a deep respect for the horse. She believes that good horsemanship begins with understanding how horses think, learn, and experience the world. Every training decision is guided by the horse’s mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Gaby is committed to continuously improving both herself and the horses she works with. She approaches her training with curiosity, self-reflection, and empathy, always striving for better outcomes while maintaining kindness and clarity.

A lifelong student of horsemanship, Gaby actively learns from respected masters across disciplines and continues to refine her knowledge through clinics, study, and competition. She brings these insights back to her students, helping them develop thoughtful, confident partnerships with their horses.

For Gaby, true success is not measured by ribbons alone, but by calm, willing horses and the smiles of riders who have learned to better understand and enjoy their horses.
